Well....so here's the list of blessings. So much
drama too. Lots to say...little time...
1. Sitting in the park figuring out what to do when all
appointments fell!! Heavenly Father has a plan when this happens because while
sitting there, a man walked by and asked to talk with us. He said his wife is a Lesbian and he's getting a divorce...he was headed to the lawyer's place. So we
chatted with him and talked about God's plan of happiness. Then later at night,
walking back to our home, we saw a sad sad man sitting alone. We felt prompted
to talk with him. Mind you...kind of sketchy park but tons of police so safe. No
worries. He was so kind. Drunk but kind. He said his mom died. We talked with
him, left a pamphlet and I gave him the apple and crackers I had. Just felt
good. Great park moments. Many walk bys and people wanting help. We are so
protected and now have more protection from the drunks who know we are
missionaries. It’s kinda funny actually. They tell people not to mess with
us.
2. Stephanie drama....she's our investigator. She’s been
abused by ex-boyfriend. Then got back together. We told her bad idea. We
stopped by to visit. Her ex walked out and said she wasn't home. We left, got
weird feeling. Returned later. She answered with bloody swollen face and blood
all over her shirt. During that time we passed by, she was knocked out. She had
bruises all over her neck and it looked like the movie "Enough" - with Jennifer Lopez. It’s like that
only she's so weak. She doesn't want to call police or anything. Just big
drama. So....we gave our advice...2 cents worth. We are planning an Family Home Evening with
her tonight in the house of member so she can get out. Hope she comes. We are so concerned about her safety. So just
drama with that and her baby. Pray for her.
3. Eilyn's mom and sister agreed to baptism. Her sister
is a drug addict but loved the lesson on life after this. She said...wow first
church I’ve heard that preaches this. Crazy. So we committed her to baptism. They
are great. Eilyn is kind of avoiding us. Don’t know why.
4. Nadim and Patricia....we taught them with a
couple...super awesome. The husband looks just like Kimi's brothers. Maybe
that's why they fall so well with me. And he's a lawyer. It totally showed in the lesson. He knows just how to
talk and convince people to believe like him. Landon....you are the same. You
have a way with words. Anyway...it was great. Well....so we thought. We
challenged them to baptism...they said no but will let us know when. Still
waiting. They called yesterday to say they only want one lesson a week and not
three. Ah oh. So pray for them as well. Hope they are ok. The couple we taught
with is inviting them to dinner next Monday for Family Home Evening. So great.
5. Eddy.....fine....making up excuses to not come to
church. His girlfriend is always sick on Sundays. So weird right. Guess they
should go to the hospital because she's been sick this whole month and last. Huh....and
only Sundays. Weird. hahahah. Well...it's ok. We all have our agency. Little by
little.
6. Blessing with area book....we are using the area book
to contact old investigators. We found a family of 12 who were investigating
the church 6 or 7 years ago. Contacted them, taught a lesson, challenged them
to baptism and they all accepted! So awesome. Working with them! We are
challenging left and right. My comp has zero fears and I LOVE IT! She
challenges like it's nothing. So fun.
7. Companion is so awesome!!!! She helps me calm down and not
stress. I've given her more responsibility and we are loving it. She is
seriously such a blessing! I can't even explain how grateful I am for her.
She's so cute and fun! I love training her. But she's already come pre-trained
so feel like I'm not doing anything. We just have fun and laugh all the time.
She's helping me organize the area book because it was crazy. We have come up
with great ideas with how to work with members, put lessons with them and get
them to help us! She's amazing! Love her to death. You have got to meet her. Well...you
will at Christmas. She’s 20...almost. This Sunday is her birthday. She speaks
and understands English so I’m preparing her to chat with you all in English. She’s
seriously so cute and great. Such a good friend.
8. Members....well...they
are so not united but we are getting awesome confidence from them. They are
beginning to trust us more. We have great activities planned and are using the
videos from work of salvation. Watch them. The young men's president invited us
over for lunch and explained his ideas and how we can work together. He gave us
some references and advice. So great! We have other meetings planned this week.
Oh and Saturday we bought pineapples to use with invitations and our progress
forms to give to each president and invite them to ward council. It was great. They
loved it and all laughed. We are working great with the elders and are trying
to get this ward going and working hard. It’s like we are opening this area. Nothing
was really done before so we are starting from zero but the members are so
willing to help us! It’s great. We need them to get the work done. I told my
comp we could knock on doors all day and have 50 lessons a week. But quality is
more important than quantity. We are working with members. Anyway. So that's
been our week. Things are great. Super happy. Kind of was stressed out but
realizing I need to focus on what I can control. I'm good. Learning a ton. And
finding....who cares if my leaders see my work and think I'm the best missionary.
What does Heavenly Father think? He sees my work each day and knows what we do
and our efforts. So that's my focus. Who cares what others think. Anyway....I'M
SO HAPPY! Loving life. Love you guys have a fun week
full of miracles and blessings. You guys are the greatest and love you a
ton!!!! So not trunky just working hard. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
