Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!!
Thanksgiving and writing down our blessings!
I was really cold...yep even in Costa Rica.
Thanksgiving we drank sparkling cider....
....and ate apple pie.....ha-ha in our meeting with the mission leader.
I decided that it was a glasses day.
Us in glasses.
We did a switcheroo.
Us at church.
Us with a sweet little girl who gave us candy canes...first Christmas presents!
Getting ready for boogie boarding!
Well...family....THINGS ARE SO GREAT!!! We met our goals
last week and it was so awesome! We worked so hard and were finally able to
teach tons of people! We have many progressing and preparing for baptism. Eddy
came to church again yesterday and is coming next week! He's progressing so
well...they just need to get married. They want to and he actually got his old
job back...such a blessing! So happy for him. They just need to save money to
pay for the wedding and all will be well. Oh, his girlfriend who is a less
active member returning gave us such good advice and information. I'll tell you
about it when I get home. It's really special and I would rather tell you in
person. Anyway. We have many new people who we are teaching. Maria Eugenia
accepted a baptismal date!!!! She said...yes and then yes to the date really
fast. Her son is going to hopefully come to the young men’s activity this
weekend. We'll see. We had an FHE with another young man that we want to
baptize. We want to baptize his parents but they need to divorce their former
spouse and then get married....which involves tons of money.
Oh Tuesday was incredible!!! Basically we are now
teaching everyone in Eilyn's family. We challenged them all to baptism....two
sisters, her mom, her niece and they all accepted for this month and they
invited us to spend Christmas with them. We have FHE with them tonight! I LOVE
THEM! They are so awesome. Xiomara had planned for a movie afterwards and
invited us but we said no and explained why. She said...but in February, you
can right?...like..after your mission right? Ha-ha. They want to come to the
states and things are just great! They totally felt the spirit in our lesson
about the restoration and defended the idea of prophets to their mom when we
were explaining. The mom said...a prophet is just like a pastor...but I worship
God. The sisters all jumped in and said...but a prophet is this and this is why
we need one. It was awesome. We totally have their confidence and ah...things
are great with them. We just pray that they continue to progress and move
forward to their date.
We have been talking with everyone and asking references
from EVERYONE that we meet. We were walking in the street and passed by a home
with a man sitting outside. I felt the need to talk with him but just brushed
it off. Thankfully, Heavenly Father already had a plan and made it so our next
appointment fell and we returned back to the man sitting outside. When we got
closer, he stood up, came to the gate and called us over. He asked us who we
are and what we are doing. We explained and he said...well...I'm Christian. I
said...GREAT! We are too! Then we explained the Restoration in 5-10 minutes. He
said, ”very interesting” and that he'll read the pamphlet and invited us over
for a lesson with him and his family tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. Also, we
had been walking by a home with a group of young men thugs outside and my comp
felt the need to talk with them. We asked about their goals and what they want
in life then testified that Heavenly Father can help them. Well...we've been
meeting with one of them and he accepted a baptismal date yesterday. Hope we
can keep going with him. I love missionary work and it has been so fun.
Plus...our ward loves us and keeps giving us references. Sadly, they live out
of our area but they are trusting us with their friends and things are out of
control. They keep feeding us too!! Yikes! I'm so happy and just loving every
moment. I keep thinking...I want to share the gospel with every single person
that I can. I love it! Excited to see you all too and have fun with you guys. But
just know that I love my mission and the Latin’s so much! My testimony of each principle
of the gospel is so much stronger and firmer. I love you all and hope you have
an excellent week. Ah...almost forgot....we had a cool experience waiting for
the bus. We were waiting and a woman came over to us. We were with two member
sisters. The woman talked with my comp and started crying. We all asked what
happened. She said she was lost, got on the wrong bus and her marriage is disintegrating.
We hugged her and talked with her about various things that progressed to the
gospel. We got her information, gave her a copy of The Proclamation to the Family
and have a meeting with her this week. Heavenly Father put her on the wrong bus
to lead her to us. IT WAS AMAZING! God has a plan for each person and does
everything in His power to lead them to us. One of the member sisters shared
her testimony about it yesterday so it strengthened her too!!! So awesome. Any
way got to go. Love you!
P.s. Thanksgiving was very simple here - just apple pie! That is ok - like I said we have Thanksgiving here everyday!!!
Love you!
